On Belonging: Arielle Nobile and Sarah Evans chatted it up during the latest FB Live conversation.

On August 22, 2020 the latest in a series of 2020 conversations over FB Live between Arielle and special guests. In a nod to one of Arielle's great inspirations, Krista Tippet and her podcast "On Being," we are calling our FB Live series this year, "On Belonging." We continue talking about the themes that matter most to us and that are the frame for our documentary series Belonging in the USA.

Arielle's conversation was with Sarah Schwartz Evans a CPS teacher, the wife of our editor JJ Evans, and a mother to a bi-racial child who has an interesting perspective on what it means to be "Black". Sarah was adopted into a multiracial family and raised in a small Indiana town. Her unique experience sparked a constant exploration of "blackness" in America.

Arielle is an award-winning documentary producer/director. She received a BFA from NYU’s Experimental Theatre Wing and studied directing and taught at Second City Theatre Chicago. She founded Legacy Connections Films in 2005 where she has directed and produced over 100 personal documentaries for clients. Arielle was included in The Independent Magazine's "10 to Watch in 2018" list.
