We are so very excited to share an addition to the Belonging in the USA website, our Resource Guide. This list includes books, podcasts, music, and more that have inspired and led to the very creation of this documentary series. We are grateful for all the many individuals, organizations, and communities who have helped us to compile this guide that includes self-care, education, and soul stirring poetry.
After the tragic murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, we were compelled to move in some form or fashion to make this world better for EVERYONE. One small way we know how to do this is to share what has made our worlds better, to share what we use to contemplate, grow more conscious, and to evolve as individuals.
Watching a man lose his life right before your eyes causes a pain very deep in one's soul. These atrocities must stop. We must right this very moment see one another as human. Our colors, religions, genders, and sexual orientations are manifestations of the beautiful variety and complexity of humanity.
We imagine a better world for ourselves and generations to come. By living love as an action, we rise above what has kept us polarized until now. By remembering what it means to be human, at its best, we create this better world we long for.
Sometimes when a task is so overwhelming, you may have no idea how to tackle it. Where to start? The purpose of this resource guide is to help with opening that door of knowledge, education, which can lead to empathy, patience and understanding. So start here, and open that door.
